Rental agreement terms for all Aegean Motion bookings
“Aegean Motion” hereby rents to the undersigned renter, under the following terms and conditions, the vehicle described in this agreement, which is accepted by the renter as being in excellent condition and suitable for its intended use.
1. Vehicle condition and return
The vehicle is the property of “Aegean Motion” and is in excellent mechanical condition, as verified by the renter. It is delivered with all necessary tools, accessories, and equipment, which must be returned together with the vehicle at the agreed place and time, as specified in this agreement.
2. Prohibited use
It is strictly prohibited to use the vehicle:
- For transporting heavy goods, flammable materials, or illegal substances.
- For carrying more passengers than permitted by the vehicle license.
- In violation of the terms of the insurance policy.
- By persons not declared in this agreement.
- If driven by more than one driver, all drivers must be declared and meet age, license, and legal requirements.
- All drivers and the renter are jointly and severally liable towards the rental company.
3. Renter responsibilities during rental
During the rental period, the renter is responsible for safeguarding the vehicle and checking its mechanical condition, including oil, water, tires, and general safety.
4. Joint liability of signatory
The signer of this agreement is jointly and severally liable with the person they represent.
5. Rental fees and return obligations
The renter is obliged to pay the rental fee as agreed, including any additional charges. Failure to return the vehicle at the agreed time and place results in liability for any damages.
6. Late return
In case of late return, the renter must compensate the rental company accordingly.
7. Insurance and CDW excess
The vehicle is insured. The renter must comply with all insurance terms. The collision damage waiver (CDW) includes an excess of €500–€1000.
8. Additional insurance
If additional insurance is selected, the renter's liability is reduced according to its terms.
9. Accidents and incidents
In case of accident or incident, the renter must immediately notify the rental company and the relevant authorities and provide all required documentation within 24 hours.
10. Personal belongings
The rental company bears no responsibility for personal belongings left in the vehicle or its premises.
11. Personal insurance coverage
The driver and passengers are not covered by personal insurance unless otherwise specified in the agreement.
12. Unauthorized drivers
Driving by unauthorized persons is strictly prohibited.
13. Age declaration
False declaration of age (under 23 years old) results in full liability and possible legal consequences.
14. Repairs
The renter is not allowed to repair the vehicle without authorization.
15. Mechanical damage and tires
The renter is responsible for any mechanical damage or tire replacement caused during the rental period.
16. Odometer
Any tampering with the odometer is strictly prohibited.
17. Travel outside Greece
The vehicle may not leave Greece without written permission from the company.
18. Traffic laws
Driving in violation of traffic laws is prohibited.
19. Parking and fines
Illegal parking is prohibited. The renter is responsible for any fines, penalties, or consequences.
20. Payment upon return
Payment must be completed upon vehicle return unless otherwise agreed.
21. Illegal use
The vehicle may not be used for illegal activities or transportation of hazardous materials.
Cancellation & modification policy
- Modification within 48 hours: one-day charge applies.
- Cancellation within 48 hours or no-show: 50% of total rental charge.
- Cancellation 7 days prior: 25% charge.
- Cancellation 20 days prior: no charge.
- Cancellation more than 20 days prior: 50% charge.
22. Rental extension
To extend the rental period, the renter must notify the company at least 48 hours in advance and pay for the additional days.
23. Termination for misuse
The company reserves the right to terminate the agreement without liability in case of misuse of the vehicle.
24. Repossession
The company has the right to repossess the vehicle after the rental period without prior notice.
25. Non-waiver of rights
No right of the company shall be considered waived unless explicitly stated.
26. Acceptance
The renter declares that they have read, understood, and unconditionally accepted all terms of this agreement.
Important note
- Non-deductible amounts of insurance coverage are payable by the renter regardless of fault. If the company is compensated for the damage, the corresponding amount will be refunded to the renter.
- Vehicle downtime (repair days) due to damage is fully charged to the renter.
